Conrad L. Shinn, 77, of Greencastle died Saturday, Nov. 27, 2004, at Asbury Towers Healthcare.

Born April 21, 1927, in Putnam County, Ind., he was the son of Conrad and Helen Irene (Rockhill) Shinn. He was a graduate of Greencastle High School Class of 1945.

He married Eugenia Faye Irwin on Sept. 12, 1950, and she survives.

Mr. Shinn was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.

He had been a shop foreman with Lonestar Industries of Greencastle for 44 years, retiring in 1989. He was a lifetime member of the VFW and a former member of the Elks Lodge, Moose Lodge and American Legion in Greencastle.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Rhonda F. Crain and husband, Ron, of Greencastle; two sons, Larry Shinn and wife, Laura, of Plainfield and Steve Shinn of Springtown, Texas; a sister, Eleanor Skelton, of North Vernon; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Charles Leon, Lawrence Melvin, Lauren Keith and Alvin Dean Shinn.

Funeral services will be held at noon on Tuesday at Bittles and Hurt Funeral Home with the Rev. James Amis officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery.

Friends may call 10 a.m. until time of service on Tuesday.
