Jack Alan Huffman, 51, of Sedona, Mo., died Nov. 16, 2004, in an airplane crash.
Born Feb. 19, 1953, in Kansas City, Kan., he was the son of Jack and Maxine Bandy Huffman. The family moved to Phoenix, Ariz., where Jack was 1 year old. His father graduated from Staunton High School in 1941 and his mother was from Poland, Ind. and graduated from Reelsville High School.
He graduated from Camelback High School in Phoenix in 1971 and obtained his pilot's license in 1970.
He played mandolin and bass guitar for two Tempe, Ariz., bands in the 1970s. He moved to Sedona in 1983.
On July 27, 1985, he married Elizabeth Tavenor.
Jack served on the Sedona Montessori School Board and the Sedona Planning and Zoning Commission.
He was a carpenter, a Licensed Contractor, a pilot and a flight instructor.
Survivors include his parents, who live in Sun Lakes, Mo., his wife; his children, Sarah, Charlotte, Alex, Molly, Becca and Drew; a sister, Kathy Fannucci, of Chandler, Mo., and Barbara Huffman and Scott Marco of Gilbert, Mo.; a nephew, Marcus Fannucci, of Chandler, Mo., and a niece and her husband, Mindy and Manny Carbajal of Gilbert.
