Waneta I. Hughes, 91, of Brazil, died at 1:24 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 5, 2004, at Terre Haute Regional Hospital.
Born June 16, 1913, in Brazil, she was the daughter of George W. and Leota DeBruler Patrick. She graduated from Brazil High School. She married Calvin "Cobby" Hughes on Nov. 27, 1935. She was a member of Peniel United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband "Cobby"; one sister, Freda Phillips and two brothers, George "Pat" Patrick and Lee Patrick.
Survivors include a daughter, Brenda, and husband, David Gaskill, of Brazil; two sons, Syd, and wife, Cathy Hughes, of Leo, Ind., and Calvin and wife, Suzanne Hughes, of Indianapolis; and one sister, Lois Glenn, of Brazil.
She is also survived by grandchildren Melissa Higgenbotham and husband Brian, Shelli Jones and husband Daryl, Libby Gaskill and friend Tim Huber, Christopher Gaskill, Brian Hughes, Shannon Morgan and husband Jeff, Dustin Hughes and friend Megan Siersema, Candace Asher and husband Christopher and Matthew Hughes. Also, great-grandchildren Joey Wilson, Samantha Jones, McKenna Jones, Caitlyn Black, Madison Asher, Aden Asher, Ian Asher, Ashley Hughes and Ryan Hughes.
Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Moore Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday with Pastor Ernie Rush officiating. Burial will follow at Clearview Cemetery.
