Ruth A. Boyce, 81, formerly of Poland and Putnam County, died at 11:05 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 6, 2004, in St. Vincent Clay Hospital. Since May 2002, she had been a resident of Cloverleaf Healthcare in Knightsville.
Born at Limedale on April 23, 1923, her parents were Vernie Beaman and Mary caldwell Beaman. She was a 1941 graduate of Reelsville High School.
She was a member of Croy's Creek Congregational Christian Church and spent 41 years on her Putnam County farm until moving to Poland in 1984.
Ruth was widowed twice. She married Harold Reece McCullough in 1941 and he died in 1960. In 1961 she married Harold R. Knight who died in 1974. Also preceding her were an infant son, Kevin Dale McCullough, in 1958 and a brother, Lester E. Beaman.
Survivors include her husband, Morris G. "Red" Boyce, whom she married in 1981; two daughters, Loretta J. McCullough Young and husband, David, and Lisa Knight Spencer and husband, Douglas, all of Reelsville; a son, Larry D. McCullough and wife, Linda, of Terre Haute; a stepdaughter, Sandra Ru-beck and husband, Gary, of Brazil; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; a niece; and a nephew.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday in Miller Memorial Chapel with Pastor Paul Zurcher officiating. Burial will be in Croy's Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Thursday.
