John Oliver McIntire, 79 of Brazil, died at 12:39 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 22, 2004, in the emergency room at St. Vincent Clay Hospital.

Born Feb, 7, 1925, in Knightsville, he was the son of Samuel N. McIntire Sr. and Mildred Mogan McIntire. He graduated from Van Buren High School. Following high school John entered military service with the U.S. Army.

John married Geraldine Leoma Bryan December 5, 1986 in Coatsville, Ind. John worked as a truck driver for United Parcel Service for 27 years and then continued work at local service stations for 10 years until his retirement.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Geraldine, on July 25, 2002; and two brothers, Samuel N. McIntire and George V. McIntire.

Survivors include two brothers, Gerald "Jerry" L. McIntire and Robert "Bob" McIntire and his wife Anita, all of Brazil and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be 9-11 a.m. Monday at Moore Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday with Vanita Moore, Certified Celebrant officiating. Burial will follow at Summit Lawn Cemetery with military honors by VFW Post 1127 and American Legion Post 2.
