Robert Earl Reid, 60, of Kentucky, died at 6 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 11, 2004, in St. Joseph's Hospice Care Center in Lexington, Ky.

Born and raised in Kentucky, he was the son of William Reid and Mary Canter.

He served in the Navy, and enjoyed traveling and spending time with his family and grandchildren in Carbon. He worked on the railroad in Indianapolis and had last been employed with the DeAngleo Brothers in Illinois.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his stepfather, George Canter; and a brother-in-law, Bill Gibson, all of Kentucky.

He is survived by three daughters, Suzie Lusk, Misty Hayes and her husband, Cory, of Carbon and Robin Reid and friend, Rob Myers of Carbon; one son, Dean Reid and his wife, Angie, of Harrisburg, Ill.; grandchildren, Kelsey, Trent, Kaylea and Gabrielle, of Carbon; and Hannah and Kayten, of Harrisburg; sisters, Virginia Gibson and Sandy Canter, of Nicholasville, Ky.; a brother, Ronald Reid, and his wife Connie, of Winchester, Ky. He had been ill with cancer. He donated his body to the University of Kentucky.

Services will be held at a later date with the cremains.
