Julie A. Shields, 35, of Terre Haute died at 10:15 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 9, 2005, in Union Hospital, following a brief battle with cancer.
Born March 31, 1969, in Greencastle, she was the daughter of Keith G. and Betty Shaw Dorsett.
She was an office assistant for Dr. Daniel Keller and worked for Hampton Lawn Care; she had formerly been an employee of DADC, AET, a driver with UPS; and a patrolman with the Ohio State Highway Patrol Piqua Post.
Survivors include her spouse, Michael L. Shields, of Terre Haute, to whom she was married four years; her parents, who live in Bruceville, Ind.; a sister, Carrie Harris, and husband, Kevin, of Fort Campbell, Ky.; and a brother, Keith E. Dorsett, of Ashley, Ohio.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents; her maternal grandfather, Robert P. Shaw; paternal grandfather, Eugene Dorsett and paternal grandmother, Blanche (Huller) Dorsett.
A remembrance reception will be held at a later date and the body will then be cremated.
Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
