John R. Stearley, 59, of Rochester Hills, Mich., died Thursday, Jan. 13, 2005.

He was an inspector at the General Motors Powertrain plant and was very active in the United Auto Workers Local No. 653.

Survivors include two sons, John M. Stearley and fiancee, Kim Keiffer, of Pontiac, Mich., and Corey Stearley and wife, Kim, of Orion, Mich.; grandchildren, Courtney, Alex, Heather and Summer; and an aunt, Thelma Barra.

Services will be today at 10:30 a.m. in Riverside Chapel, Simpson-Modetz Funeral Home, Waterford, Mich.
