Theda M. Vest, 85, of Brazil died at 3:55 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 18, 2005, in Plainfield Health Care Center at Plainfield, Ind.
Born July 18, 1919, at Linton, Ind., she was the daughter of John Wilson and Cora (Brewer) Wilson Chipman.
She married Winfred G. Vest on Dec. 25, 1936. He died Jan. 22, 1988.
Mrs. Vest attended Linton High School.
She was a sales clerk at Grants Department Store and was a member of Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Vest belonged to Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church in Brazil where she wrote and performed in skits for fundraisers and helped with bereavement meals. She enjoyed quilting and reading.
Survivors include two sons, Winfred G. Vest Jr. of Martinsville and Richard Vest of Indianapolis; a half-brother, Harry Chipman Jr. of Fredericksburg, Va., and a half-sister, Suzann Poole of Bargersville, Ind.; three grandsons, Jerry Vest, Jeffrey Vest and Russell Schultz; a granddaughter, Dawn Vest; and three great-granddaughters.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; her stepfather, Harry Chipman; and a brother, Wilbert Darrel Wilson.
Visitation will be 10-11 a.m. Friday at Costin Funeral Chapel Inc., 539 E. Washington St., Martinsville, Ind., with services at 11 a.m.
Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Linton.
