Neddie Lee Morris, 74, of Indianapolis, formerly of Clay County, died Monday, Jan. 10, 2005, in Hendricks County Hospital in Danville, Ind.

Born Dec. 15, 1930, in Terre Haute he was the son of Carl Lee Morris and Minnie Estella Inge Morris. They are deceased.

He attended Staunton School and graduated in the class of 1948.

He served 23 years in the Air Force and had been stationed throughout the world. He was a crew chief with the USAFE Skyblazers Aerial Demonstration Team and retired in 1972.

He was active in the Academy of Model Aeronautics, where he set many model airplane speed records and was considered a pioneer in the sport.

Survivors include a son, Josephus Lee Morris and wife, Maria; a sister, Margaret Green, and husband Robert; a niece and nephew, Ann Mason and Jeff Green; and extended family members.

Cremation will take place and private services will be conducted at a later date.
