Eithel Sanders, 94, of Carbon died Friday, Jan. 21, 2005, at 3:58 a.m. in Cloverleaf Healthcare Facility.
Born in Raccoon Township, Parke County, on July 13, 1910, she was the daughter of James "Brent" Wright and Della Mae Sutherland Wright.
She was married to Clemon "Bid" Sanders who preceded her in death on Jan. 24, 1983. She and her husband owned and worked the family farm north of Carbon. She also worked at the tomato and cigar factories in brazil. She and her sister, Grace Sanders, owned the Sanders Cafe in Carbon and the Children's Hour Restaurant in Brazil. She was a foster care home for many years. She was well-known for her wonderful pies and for being a loving person to all.
Survivors include a son, William Robert Sanders, of Brazil; two grandchildren, Tonya Sanders and Angel Shonk, both of brazil; two great-grandsons, Christopher Turner and Jeremy Mitchell; a great-great-grandson, Leo Turner; sisters, Grace Sanders of Carbon, Carolyn Wheeler of Indianapolis and Becky Spencer of Greencastle; two brothers, Howard Wright of Florida and Lester Wright of Greenwood; several nieces, nephews and a large extended family.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Thomas "Tom" Sanders in 1961; her stepmother, Mildred Wright; two sisters, Lola Calrk and Lorene Rogers; and two brothers, Arley Wright and Christopher Wright.
Services will be held Monday at 1 p.m. in French Funeral Home with the Rev. Howard Wright officiating.
Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery in Rockville.
Visitation will be Sunday from 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
