Elizabeth "Betty" Johnson, 91, of Staunton, died unexpectedly at her residence on Saturday, Jan. 22, 2005.

Born Aug. 7, 1913, in St. Louis, she was the daughter of Arthur Buermann and Rose Musick Buermann.

On Feb. 15, 1933, she married Leslie T. Johnson. He preceded her in death on July 9, 1988.

She was a homemaker and loving wife and mother. She belonged to the United Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Leslie Ted and Deanna Johnson, of Carrolton, Ill., and Norman and Rose Marie Johnson of Staunton; five grandchildren, Karen and Dave McCaskey of California, Craig Johnson of Italy, Barb Johnson of St. Louis, Pam Johnson of Kansas City, Mo., and Lisa and Mark Fields of Staunton; a great-grandson, Brandon McCaskey; a sister, Rosemary Gullett of Texas; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband; and two brothers, James and Charles Buermann.

Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Lake Charles Cemetery in St. Louis. There will be no visitation in Clay County.
