Simon L. Wright Sr., 87, of Terre Haute, formerly of Coal City, died Thursday, Feb. 3, 2005, at Terre Haute Regional Hospital.
He had been a resident at Davis Gardens for the past five years.
Born Sept. 21, 1917, in Westport, Ind., he was the son of John Wright and Elisabeth Shane Wright.
He worked as a truck driver for L.C. Cassidy and Son of Indianapolis. He and his wife, Ella "Peg" Wright owned and managed restaurants in Greensburg, Cloverdale and the Old School Inn in Coal City.
Survivors include his children, Simon Wright Jr. and David Wright, both of Dallas, Texas, Joann Boschard of Oklahoma, Sharon Wilhoite of Worthington and Dawn Wright of Terre Haute; 18 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; many nieces; nephews; and other extended family.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Ruth Dayton; his wife, Peg, in 1993; several brothers; and sisters.
Graveside services will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at Stephens Cemetery in Lewis.
