Glen J. Swaim, 72, of Marshall, Ind., died Saturday, Feb. 5, 2005, at 6:38 a.m. in Union Hospital, Terre Haute.
Born May 16, 1932, in Parke County, he was the son of Ralph and Callie Jackson Swaim.
He was a 1950 graduate of Tangier High School, Tangier, Ind.
He was a retired carpenter.
On Jan. 18, 1957, he married Helen Wallace.
Memberships included Kingman Lodge No. 314 F&AM, Fountain Chapter No. 204 Order of Eastern Star, Covered Bridge Antique Tractor Club and he attended the Marshall Federated Church.
He enjoyed working out in the yard and garden, golfing and being with family and grandchildren.
He served with the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
Survivors include his wife; two sons and daughters-in-law, David and Robin Swaim of Marshall and Joe and Dee Swaim of Brazil; a daughter and son-in-law, Becky and Brad Collings, of Rosedale, Ind.; a daughter-in-law, Denise Swaim McFall, of Rosedale; seven grandchildren; two great-granddaughters; four sisters, Mona Thompson and Evelyn Randolph of Kingman, Ind., and Bobbie Tryon and Ardella Foster, both of Cayuga, Ind.
He was preceded in death by a son, Kevin Swaim; three brothers; and two sisters.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Marshall Federated Church, Marshall, Ind., with the Rev. Don. Perry officiating.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Monday at Barnes Mortuary, Rockville, Ind.
Burial will be in Memory Garden Cemetery, Rock-ville, with Military Graveside Rites by Parke County Veterans Organization.
