Betty Hoffman Rollings, 82, of Brazil died Sunday, Feb. 6, 2005, at 7:35 a.m. at Mt. Vernon Nursing and Rehabilitation in Mt. Vernon, Ind., where she had been a resident a short time.
Born March 30, 1922, she was the daughter of Herbert E. and Mary E. Tilley Knust.
She graduated from Ashboro High School in 1940 before attending Indiana Business College to earn a degree in bookkeeping.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Harold W. Hoffman, who died in 1988. In June 1991, she married Kenny Rollings, who died in 1994.
After graduating, she worked as a bookkeeper for J.C. Penney in Brazil and Poise 'N' Ivy in Terre Haute. Among her many hobbies, she enjoyed watching NASCAR, cooking, canning, gardening but most of all, spending time with her family.
Survivors include two sons, Harold Lee Hoffman and wife, Debbie, of Carmi, Ill., and Wayne W. Hoffman of Brazil; two stepsons, Kelly Rollings of Center Point and Roger Rollings of Indianapolis; seven grandchildren, Amy L. Hobbs and husband, David, of Boonville, Ind., Andrew J. Hoffman and wife, Melissa, of Santa Claus, Ind., Tracie Watson of Brazil, Mendy Treadway and husband, Rex, of Clay City, Jonathan Hoffman of Phoenix, Ariz., Seth and wife, Beth Hoffman of Brazil and Case Hoffman of Brazil; and eight grandchildren, Caty, Cory, Jordan, Kayla, Mia, Ricky, Hunter and Chase.
She was preceded in death by her parents; both husbands; a son, Herbert F. Hoffman; a brother, Cyril Knust; a sister, Polly Knust; and a grandson, Wayne Hoffman.
Graveside services will be today, at 11 a.m. at Ashboro Cemetery with Pastor Tom Roeschlein officiating. French Funeral Home assisted with arrangements.
