Malcolm "Mac" Wayne McLin, 17, of Brazil died suddenly on Monday at St. Vincent Clay Hospital.
Born May 4, 1987, in Brazil, he was the son of Ronald "Dewey" McLin Jr. and Peggy Smith McLin.
He would have graduated from Northview High School in the Class of 2005.
He worked at McDonalds in Brazil.
He planned on going to Lincoln Tech in the fall.
Mac was a member of the 4-H Forever Club and the 4-H Rocket Club. He loved to go camping and fishing with his family. He also enjoyed paintball and working on cars with his Dad.
Survivors include his parents; his brother, Charlie McLin; maternal grandparents, Charles and Patsy Smith; paternal grandparents, Ronald and Ada McLin; paternal great-grandmother and great-grandfather, Mid and Tommy Whitehead, all of Brazil; aunts and uncles including Robert and Cindy Watts of Brazil, Steve and Carol Brush of Bostic, N.C., Penny Smith of Greencastle, Christine and Jerry King of Brazil; cousins, including Nikki, Ted, Lexus and Braxton Mercer, KD, Darci, Mercedes and Sierra Brush, Austin and Hailey King; several great-aunts and uncles; and other extended family.
He was preceded in death by his maternal great-grandparents, Malcolm and Waldolene Brashier and Floyd and Beulah Smith; paternal great-grandparents, George and Montana McLin, and Charlie Schell.
Services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Lawson-Miller Chapel, 1702 E. National Ave., Brazil with Brother Greg Comp officiating. Burial will follow in Clearview Cemetery.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Friday and Saturday, prior to services.
