Christina Northway, 87, of Knightsville died Monday, Feb. 28, 2005, at 6:45 a.m. at The Waters of Greencastle.
Born July 18, 1917, in Knightsville, she was the daughter of Edgar and Stella Matthews Northway.
She graduated from Van Buren High School in 1936 and was a member of the United Methodist Church in Knightsville.
She had worked at G.C. Murphy in Brazil, the Root Store in Terre Haute, as the head cashier at the Standard Grocery Store in Brazil, in the accounting office of 7-up and at Oehler's Five and Dime. She retired from Pell's. She was well-known as a seamstress.
Survivors include three brothers, Ed Northway and wife, Marilyn, of Ft. Madison, Iowa, Dick Northway of Yellow Springs, Ohio, and John Northway and wife, Alice, of Eugene, Ore.; a sister-in-law, Norma Northway, of Marion, Ind.; several nieces; nephews; and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her twin sister, Elizabeth Northway Chew; a brother, Bishop Northway; and a sister-in-law, Hanna Northway.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Lawson-Miller Chapel, 1702 E. National Ave., Brazil. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Park, Terre Haute.
Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday prior to services.
