Larry D. Miller, 62, of rural Brazil, died at 7:35 p.m. Wednesday, March 16, in the emergency room of St. Vincent Clay Hospital. He had been receiving treatment for a heart condition.
Born in Brazil on Jan. 15, 1943, his parents were Perley "Pete" Miller and Eloise Henderson Miller. He attended Van Buren High School.
He formerly resided for over 30 year in Peoria, Ill., where he worked for the operating engineers. He returned to Brazil in Oct., 2004.
He was a member of Local No. 649, International Union of Opearting Engineers, Peoria.
He is survived by his wife, Kathren "Jo" Watson Miller, five daughters, Beth Broadstreet (Eddie) of Reelsville, Lida Brattain of Brazil, Lisa Matheny (Rick), Danyell "Bam" Janosky (Calvin) and Cathy Miller, all of Pekin, Ill.; three sons, Don Brattain (Carrie)of Brazil, Tim Miller (Emily) of Pekin and Pete Miller (Vickie) of Kingston Mines, Ill.; 19 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one brother, Kenny Miller (Dolly) of Brazil; one great-aunt, Vriginia Wisehart, in Texas; and two nephews.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 20, in the Lawson-Miller Chapel, Brazil. Rev. Howard Huges will officiate, and burial will be in the Croy's Creek Cemetery southeast of Brazil. Visitation is from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday.
