Beatrice Cooksey Purcell, 69, of Greencastle, formerly of Brazil, died at 1:28 p.m. Sunday, March 20, 2005, in Putnam County Hospital at Greencastle.

Born Jan. 16, 1936, she was the daughter of William and Mabel Batchelor Cooksey.

She attended Van Buren High School and married Gerald R. Purcell on Sept. 2, 1964.

Survivors include her husband; a son, William E. "Eddy" Purcell and wife, Lori, of Brazil; three daughters, Darlene Purcell of Jacksonville, N.C., Sarah Bowling and husband, William, of Indianapolis, and Lisa Paul and husband, Jeff, of Harlan, Iowa; a brother, Jim Cooksey, and wife, Gincie, of Brazil; 12 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Graveside services will be at Calcutta Cemetery, Wednesday, March 23, 2005, at 2 p.m. with Pastor Richard Piatt officiating.

Donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association. Evenvelopes will be available at the church.
