Born Aug. 27, 1921, in Terre Haute, she was the daughter of Fred and Estelle Bennett Schimmel.
She was a 1939 graduate of Garfield High School.
On Dec. 24, 1942, she married Robert Wayne Renfro.
She was a cashier at Hooks Pharmacy for four years before retiring in 1984. She was a dedicated member of Trinity Baptist Church in Brazil and enjoyed playing cards and board games.
She is preceded in death by her parents; a son, Robert Joseph Renfro; eight brothers and sisters, John Schimmel, Judeth Baker, Margaret Nipple, Dorothy Humphreys, Betty Peck, James Schimmel, Evelyn Schimmel and Jacqueline Schimmel.
Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Janet Lea Renfro, of Boynton Beach, Fla.; a sister, Jeanne Weber, of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.,; and a brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Maxine Schimmel, of Orange County, Calif.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in Lawson-Miller Chapel, 1702 E. National Ave., Brazil, with Pastor Leonard Steeb officiating. Burial will follow in Grandview Cemetery in Terre Haute.
Visitation will be Wednesday, 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
