Lucille Grogan Harper Burk, 81, of Terre Haute, died Saturday, March 30, 2005, at 9 p.m. in her residence.
Born Aug. 24, 1923, in Brazil. she was the daughter of Joseph Weaver Grogan and Mary Young Grogan.
In 1943, she married Lester "Buck" Harper who died in 1968.
In 1972, she married William Burk who died in 1980.
In 1983, she retired from Goodyear at Plaza North as a store manager.
She was a member of Carbon Order of Eastern Star for 25 years, a member of First Baptist Church in Brazil since 1941 and for the past several years, she attended Emmanuel Baptist Church in Seelyville.
She loved to dance, which she did two or three times a week with Robert Thomas.
She is survived by four children, Linda Patterson of Michawaka, Ind., Barbara DeHart and husband, James, of Terre Haute, Curtis Harper and wife, Shirley, of Terre Haute and Brad Harper and wife, Linda, of Robinson, Ill.; nine grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; a sister, Violet Nolte, of Brazil; a brother, William Grogan, of Terre Haute; two sisters-in-law, Odena Harper of Carbon and Betty Williams of Brazil; many nieces, nephews and other family.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husbands.
Services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. in french Funeral Home with her son, Brad Harper, officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Lawn Cemetery.
Visition will be 4-8 p.m. today and Saturday prior to services.
