Mabel M. Doane, 84, of Brazil, died unexpectedly at her residence.

She was born April 13, 1920, in Brazil, the daughter of Charles and Ellean Gentry Muncie. She worked in the Welfare Office from 1941-1951 and later worked for the Internal Revenue Service in the Terre Haute office. She was married to Theodore J. Doane on Nov. 5, 1960. He preceded her in death Jan. 2, 1992. She attended the Nazarene Church in Brazil.

She is survived by her step-daughter, Rev. Judy M. Williams and her husband Larry of Marshall, Ill.; a close friend, Imogene Orme; many cousins, extended family and a host of friends.

Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday at French Funeral Home with Brother George Hewitt officiating. Burial will follow at Summit Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from noon to 2 p.m. Light a candle in her memory at www.frenchfuneralhome.com.
