Joseph Edwards, 61 of Knightsville, died Monday, April 4, 2005, at 7:51 a.m. at St. Vincent Clay Hospital.
He was born March 29, 1944, in Indianapolis, the son of Fayettee LaFollette Franklin Edwards and Mary Elizabeth Gasper Edwards. He graduated from North Putnam High School.
He worked at General Motors Manufacturing Allison Plant in Indianapolis retiring in 1988. He was currently working for Securitas as a security officer at Columbia House in Terre Haute.
In the past he enjoyed archery, woodworking, and collecting knives and guns. He attended Christ Community Church in Brazil.
He is survived by his wife Fritzie Hof Edwards of Knightsville; two sons, Antony Edwards and his wife Kimberly of Indianapolis, Marty Edwards and wife Tracy of Anderson; step-daughters, Dottie King and husband Wayne of Brazil, and Penny Arney and husband Kevin of Brazil; grandchildren, Michelle, Shawn, T.J., Michael, Jordan and Danielle King, Johnathon, Nathan, Nicholas, and Bret Jadvani, Amanda, Christopher, and William Edwards, Cierra, Kevin, Jr. and Chelsea Arney; four sisters, Juanita Anderson, Sherry Edwards, Bette Frazier, and Diane Reiner; many nieces, nephews and extended family.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Albert Edwards and James Edwards and one sister Patricia Edwards.
Services will be held Wednesday at 7 p.m. at French Funeral Home with Pastor Tim Russell officiating. At his request, cremation will follow. Visitation will be Wednesday from 4-7pm.
The family requests that memorial contributions be directed to the American Cancer Society. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
