Nellie Royer, 96, of Bowling Green, passed away April 4, 2005, at Cloverleaf Healthcare Facility. She was born Oct. 1, 1908, in Owen County the daughter of Alva Kitch and Mae Stahl Kitch. She married Virgil "Doc" Royer on Oct. 23, 1927. He preceded her in death Aug. 11, 1984. She was well known in the Bowling Green area, and was noted for "feeding anyone and everyone in Bowling Green."

She enjoyed quilting, and tending to her flowers, and most of all caring for her family. She was a member of the Bowling Green United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her children, Leroy Royer and wife Barbara of Cory, Aron Royer and wife Pauline, Madonna Campbell and husband Marvin all of Brazil, Mary Lou Coley of Bowling Green; daughters-in-law, Francella Royer of Brazil and Regina Royer of Center Point; Sister Florence Mason and her husband Durham of Knightsville; five sisters-in-law, Cynthia Moon, Muriel Kay, Adie Jordan, Gerry Kitch and Helen Kitch; 18 grandchildren, Janet Grey, Donnell Royer and wife Teressa, Darrell Royer and wife Annette, Tom Royer, Tim Royer and wife Jill, Danny Coley and wife Tina, Rusty Coley and wife Donna, Dale Royer and wife Pam, Mike Royer and wife Becky, Keith Royer and wife Rosana, Darla Hayes and husband Terry, Carol Koehler and husband Larry, Marvona Welsh and husband Bruce, Malinda Dragon and husband Dan, Tamera Pogue and husband Jim, Margaret Crowley; 40 great-grandchildren; 12 great-great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and extended family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two sons, Virgil Royer and Leon Royer; one son-in- law, Wayne Coley; eight brothers and sisters, Floyd Kitch, Gilbert Kitch, Herman Kitch, Melvin Kitch, David Kitch, Ruth Gregory, Madonna Maxine and Kenneth Kitch; one grandson-in-law, Mike Grey; one grandson, Darren Royer, and one granddaughter Alice Royer; a great-grandson Matthew Coley.

Services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. in French Funeral Home with the Rev. Brent Harden officiating. Burial to follow at Fairview Cemetery in Bowling Green. Visitation will be Thursday from 4-8 p.m. and again Friday prior to services.

Pallbearers will be Donnell Royer, Darrell Royer, Tim Royer, Danny Coley, Rusty Coley, Dale Royer, Mike Royer and Keith Royer.
