Glenn V. Williams, 91, of Brazil and formerly of Cloverdale, died Thursday, April 7, 2005, at Clay County Health Center.
Born March 20, 1909 in Putnam County, he was the son of Thomas H. and Tina Florence (Jones) Williams. He married Nellie Hurt on Sept. 28, 1935, and she preceded him in death on Sept. 9, 1991.
He had been a farmer and had also driven a school bus. He had worked at the Indiana State Farm for 24 years, retiring in 1975 as a food supervisor. After his retirement he had worked at the Cloverdale IGA.
Survivors include his son, Jerry Williams of Greencastle; Kathleen Bales and husband Lewis C. of Cloverdale; five grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, seven great-great-grandchildren and a niece.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and a brother, Jesse Williams.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Sunday, April 10, at Bittles and Hurt Funeral Home, Greencastle, with Rev. Steve Williams officiating. Burial will be in the Cloverdale Cemetery, Cloverdale. Friends may call at the funeral home 5-8 p.m. today.
