Ruby Louise Nicoson Ferry, 90, of Brazil, died at Terre Haute Regional Hospital at 12:47 a.m., Sunday, April 10, 2005.

She was born Aug. 19, 1914, to Grant and Estella Purcell Nicoson. She married Francis Marion Ferry Aug. 19, 1933; he is deceased.

She worked at Quaker Maid, Brazil High School as an attendant in the snack bar and also at Adamson's Fabric Care in Brazil.

She was a member of the Harmony United Methodist Church and the Christian Quilting Club. She loved quilting, having made several quilts for her children. In her younger years she enjoyed bowling and won many trophies in competition.

She also enjoyed playing cards, bingo, traveling, playing the piano and flowers.

She was preceeded in death by her parents, husband, a son, Ernest Max "Bud" Ferry, one brother, Chauncey Nicoson, and two sisters, Edelene Buzard and Gladys Riley.

She is survived by a son, Mike Ferry and wife, Susan, of Brazil, three daughters Patricia Traverse, of Staunton, Nancy Craig, of Clay City, and Edie Baysinger and husband, Don, of Brazil; two sisters, Maxine Beamon, of Brazil, and Edith Smith, also of Brazil; 18 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Services will be Friday at 2 p.m. at French Funeral Home with Pastor Charles Parr officiating. Visitation will by Friday from noon until time of the service. Burial will follow at Clearview Cemetery in Brazil. Visit www.frenchfuneralhome.com to light a candle in her memory.
