Luther Arvel Raab, 76 of Brazil died at 6:35 a.m. Saturday, April 9, 2005, at St. Vincent Clay Hospital.
He was born Dec. 1, 1918, in Reelsville, Ind., the son of Arvel and Helen Smith Raab. He attended Reelsville High School. He married Rosemarie Kingery Nov. 18, 1949, in Brazil. He served in the U.S. Army until Sept. 19, 1952.
He was trained in electrical repair and had worked for Arketex, the City of Brazil and the Clay County School Corporation.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, William (Harry) Raab and one nephew, Tom Raab.
He is survived by his wife Rosemarie; one daughter, Sharon Williams and husband Ron of Center Point; two granddaughters, Heather and Carrie Williams, both of Center Point; two brothers, Wayne Raab and wife Hester of Carbon and Cecil Raab and wife Catherine of Brazil; one sister, Marie Johnson and friend Ernie of Diamond, Ind., and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today at Moore Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday with Pastor Paul Zurcher officiating. At the request of the deceased, his body will be cremated and his ashes buried at Croys Creek Cemetery at a later date. Should friends so desire, expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the Clay County Community Foundation.
