Curtis C. VanHorn, 80, of Clay City died at 6:58 p.m. Wednesday, April 13, 2005, at Regional Hospital in Terre Haute.
Born March 11, 1925, in Clay County, he was the son of Pierson H. and Josephine Harden VanHorn.
He owned and operated Van's Service Center in Clay City and continued to work until becoming ill earlier this month. Prior to purchasing the service center, he was employed by Haymans' Hatchery and Feed Mill. he enjoyed gardening and collecting NASCAR memorabilia.
He was a member of the New Hope Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his father, mother and stepmother, Anna Oliver VanHorn.
Survivors include his brother, Max VanHorn; a sister, Nancy Goble, both of Clay City; and many other family members.
Services will be at noon, Saturday, at Schoppenhorst Funeral Home in Clay City with the Rev. Mel Sorenson officiating. Burial will follow at Sink Cemetery.
Visitation will be 10 a.m. until time of services Saturday.
