Jack W. Fritz Jr., 61, of Clay City, died at 5:59 p.m., April 19, 2005 at Union Hospital in Terre haute. He was the son of John W. and Marjorie Marshall Fritz. After graduating from Clay City High School he joined the United States Army. Following his service to his country he worked at the Crane Navel Base, then at Peabody Coal Company as a heavy equipment operator until retiring in 2004. His hobbies include woodworking and his horse "Dude."

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include two sons: John and wife Candy Fritz of Coal City; Michael and wife Jennifer Fritz of Leo; One daughter Tracy Shields of Terre Haute; a brother Steve and wife Loretta Fritz of Jordan Village; one sister Jilly Bean of Terre Haute, six grandchildren; Brittany Fritz of Coal City, Karlie Fritz of Brazil, Brazily Fritz of Leo, Tyler Fritz of leo, Brandee Wingham of Terre Haute and Brandon Pershing of Terre Haute; two nieces Krista and Janice and a nephew, Brad.

Services will be at Schoppenhorst Funeral Home Sunday April 24, 2005 at 2 p.m. with Pastor Paul Zurcher officiating. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in Clay City.
