Nova M. Walker Cooper, 88 of Brazil, died at 11:25 a.m. Monday, April 25, 2005 at Holly Hill Health Care in Brazil.

She was born June 25, 1916 in Brazil, the daughter of Fred Otto Grothe and Maude Hewes Grothe.

She graduated from Brazil High School in 1934. She attended Indiana State University and then Browns Business College.

She married Santford Walker on Aug. 29, 1941, who preceded her in 1987. During World War II, she served in the Civil Service. Following the ear, she was employed at Osco in Terre Haute and volunteered at the Senior Citizens Center for 12 years. In 1988, she married Leroy Cooper.

She was a member of the McKinley Hill Church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Santford Walker; and her brother, Paul Grothe who died in 1986.

She is survived by her husband, Leroy Cooper; one son, Charles William Walker and his wife Deanna of Greenwood; two grandsons, Richard Lee Walker and his wife Etha of North Carolina and Andrew Thomas Walker of Iowa City, Iowa; and four great-grandchildren Devon, Tiffany, Luke, and Mathew Walker.

Visitation will be held at Moore Funeral Home on Wednesday from 4 to 7 pm. Funeral Services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, April 28, with Pastor Rick Thomas officiating. Burial will follow at Cottage Hill Cemetery in Brazil.
