Jack E. Shearer, age 81, passed away May 10, 2005.

The son of Earl and Irma Shearer, of Tampa, FL, he was a long time resident of Tampa and a native of Brazil, Indiana. He graduated from Brazil Senior High School in 1942, was president of his senior class, captain of the basketball team and track teams, and then enlisted in the U.S. Coast Guard in October 1942 and remained in the service until September of 1953.

Jack married Marjorie Crescent of Tampa in 1947, the daughter of Henry and Gertrude Crescent. He was employed by Tampa Electric Company and retired upon 30 years of service.

Jack was a Methodist, a lifetime member of the DAV, a member of the American Legion, and a supporter of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

He is survived by his wife, Marjorie, his daughter, Brenda Lusker, and his son, Brent, all of Tampa.

Graveside services will be held on Saturday, May 14, 2005 at 1:00 p.m. in the Garden of Memories Cemetery. Friends may visit Friday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Garden of Memories Funeral Home, Tampa, FL. The family would like to thank the staff of University Community Hospital Carrollwood for their professionalism and care.
