Roy F. Maybaugh, 92 of Mitchell Indiana, formerly of Clay City, passed away May 30, 2005, in Mitchell Manor Nursing Home. He had been a resident there for only two weeks. He had moved to Mitchell in 1996 to live with his daughter and son-in-law. He was born December 1, 1912, in Clay County, the son of Charles and Chessie Winneke Maybaugh. He married Ruth Harbaugh in May of 1935, she preceded him in death. He had been a life-long farmer in Clay County. He had livestock and was a grain farmer. He enjoyed gardening and being with family. He was the oldest member of the First United Church of Christ in Clay City.

He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Jean and Dale Waldbieser of Mitchell; son and daughter-in-law, Ronald and Ann Maybaugh of Greencastle; three grandchildren, Kris and Jim Sergio, Brian and Andrea Waldbieser, and Darren Maybaugh; six great-grandchildren; one brother Carl Maybaugh of Linton, and one sister Pat Haseman of Clay City; several nieces, nephews and extended family.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Ruth, and his beloved grandson, Barry Maybaugh.

Services will be held Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at Schoppenhorst Funeral Home in Clay City with burial to follow in St. Peters Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 4-8 p.m. and again Thursday prior to services. The family requests that memorial contributions be directed to the American Cancer Society.
