Manuel "Manny" Leroy Goins, 60, of Reelsville died Friday morning, June 17, at St. Vincent Hospital.
He was born January 27, 1945, in Berea, Kentucky, to William Prince Goins and Augusta Pauline Smiley.
He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his wife, Diane E. Holloway, three sons, Ryan W. and his wife Deidre of Virginia Beach, Virginia; John M. and his wife Debra L. of Marietta, Ohio; Joseph S. Goins of Terre Haute, Indiana; one daughter Andrea M. and her husband John I. Stanley of Fruitland Park, Florida; two stepdaughters, Tammy L. Edgar of Fort Smith, Arkansas; Ann M. and her husband Alan R. Ring of Indianapolis, Indiana; one stepson Doug and his wife Angela of Fort Smith, Arkansas; nine grandchildren and ten stepgrandchilden.
He grew up in southeast Ohio and spent most of his adult life in the Indianapolis area.
He served in the U.S. Army Reserve for fifteen years and later worked as a commercial tractor-trailer driver. He was an active member of the American Legion Post 2, the Fraternal Order of Eagles #4388 and the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Greencastle. He was well-known in the Brazil and Greencastle area for his love of karaoke.
Services are 1:00 p.m. Wednesday at Lawson-Miller Chapel; 1702 E. National Ave. in Brazil. Visitation is Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Burial will be at East Lawn Cemetery in Marietta, Ohio. The family request that no flowers be sent and that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to the family in care of John Goins, 1003 Glendale Road, Marietta, Ohio, 45750. There will be envelopes available at the funeral home.
