Robert McIntire, 66, of Brazil died at St. Vincent Clay Hospital in Brazil at 12:11 p.m. on July 1, 2005.
He was the son of the late Samuel N. McIntire and Mildred Maxine Mogan McIntire. He graduated from Van Buren High School in 1958 and then married Anita Vickers McIntire on January 31, 1958. He worked for Mechanics Laundry, which then became Cintas, as a mechanic for their vehicles as well as their equipment. After retiring from Cintas he worked as a mechanic for Transit Source. In his younger years he enjoyed racing stock cars, motorcycles and go-karts. He was a man who was always ready to help others and never met a stranger. He loved to tell jokes but his true love was his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothes Samuel "Jack" McIntire, George McIntire and John McIntire.
Survivors include his wife Anita, daughters Robbie and husband Ronn Grubb, Ginger and husband Robert Stangle and Jean Surber and Hubert Wallen, a son Jack Schultz all of Brazil; James "Ray" Barnett of Staunton; grandchildren Angie Burk and husband Larry of Florida, Robert McCreery and Annie Grubb, Jimmy Barnett, Holly and husband Danny Bowling, Scotty Stangle and Amber Reitsma all of Brazil; Ryan Grubb and Riley Grubb, of Arizona; great-grandchildren Sheree' Burk, Larry "Brother" Burk, Sierra Burk, and Sabrina Burk all of Florida; Danielle Bowling, Briana Bowling, Brook Bowling and Willow Bowling, all of Brazil; Bryce Pell of Linton and Baby "C" and a brother, Jerry McIntire of Brazil.
Services will be at French Funeral Home Wednesday, July 6, 2005, at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Union Cemetery in Brazil. Visitation will be at the funeral home Tuesday from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m.
