John M. Johnson, 70, of Brazil died at 10:45 p.m. July 10, 2005 at his residence.
He was born February 22, 1935, the son of Lomar C. Johnson and Ruth Maxwell Johnson.
He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. He was a past Commander with VFW 1127 in Brazil and also past Commander with American Legion Post 2 and a member of the Moose Club in Brazil. He was employed as a water treatment operator with the city of Brazil for 33 years.
He was preceded in death by his wife Marti Pawley Johnson, his parents, 2 sisters, Bonnie Sadler and Barbara Morris and a brother Howard Johnson.
Survivors include 2 sons by marriage, Ray Haase and wife Patti, and Jeff Haase, 4 daughters by marriage, Anna Myers and husband Roger, Connie McAuliffe and husband Dennis, Marti Quilliam and husband Don and Melissa Frazier. Also surviving are 2 nieces, Sue Dale and Phyllis Hayes and 2 nephews, David Sadler and Austin Farley, 10 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
Cremation is scheduled with memorial services at a later date. Mattox-Ryan Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Cremains will be buried at Bono Cemetery, Dana.
