David Beryl Moore, 81, of Brazil, passed away July 30, 2005 at 12:33 a.m. at the Cloverleaf Healthcare Facility. He had been a resident there for only 2 weeks.

He was born April 10, 1924 in Clay County, the son of David Moore and Goldie Bell Moore. He graduated from Brazil High School Class of 1942. He married Mary Joyner Moore on December 12, 1948, she survives. He had been a life long farmer. In the past they had a dairy farm and beef cattle, hogs and were also grain farmers. Their family received the Hoosier Homestead Award in 1996. He enjoyed the hard and honest work of farming. He served as the Jackson Township Trustee in the 1960's and was active in the Jackson Township Farm Bureau Association. He also was on the original building committee for Jackson Towsnhip School. He was a life long member of the Union United Methodist Church, serving several offices and served on the Union Cemetery Board. He also was instrumental in the completion of the addition to the church in 1995.

He is survived by his loving wife Mary; one son and daughter-in-law, John and Mary Ann Moore; one daughter and son-in-law, Kay and Jerry Henke, all of Brazil; seven grandchildren, Dustin Moore, Evan Moore, Jeremy Henke, Graham Henke, and Kolby Henke, Andy Henke and wife Jennifer and Danny Henke and wife Crystal; four great-grandchildren, Hailey Henke, Nicholas Henke, Holley Henke and Jaxon Henke; two sisters, Mary Marjorie Moore of Brazil and Ann Carol Harden and her husband Brent of Center Point; one sister-in-law Ginny Hicks of Oakwood, IL; several nieces, nephews and other extended family.

Services will be held Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. at Union United Methodist Church with Rev. Dennis Alstott and Tom Stapp officiating. Burial will follow at Union Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday at French Funeral Home from 4:00-8:00 p.m. and again Wednesday at the church one hour prior to services. Light a candle in his memory at www.frenchfuneralhome.com
