Charles Keith Thompson, 78, of Brazil, died at 10:00 p.m. Friday, July 29, 2005 at Cloverleaf Healthcare in Knightsville.
He was born February 19, 1927 in Bowling Green, Indiana. He was the son of Aubra and Bessie Crafton Thompson. Following graduation from Bowling Green High School he entered military service where he served in the U.S. Navy. Following active duty with the U.S. Navy in 1965 he continued his military service with the U.S. Navy Reserves until his retirement.
He was employed as a financial planner for IBM. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Brazil, Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite, and the Brazil BPOE Elks Lodge.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Beth Kate Liechty, Wilma Dane Stoeling and Anna Joyce Keever; and four brothers, Malcom C., Maurice A., Norl E. and Ward Burton Thompson.
He is survived by his wife Norma Jean James Thompson who he married June 12, 1949 in Brazil; one daughter, Debbie Tilley of Glouster Point, Virginia; one son, Kevin Thompson and his wife Cindy of Noblesville, Indiana; three sisters, Beverly Meyer of Bowling Green, Sue McCombs of Bowling Green and Madona Foy of Brazil; three granddaughters, Ashley, Amanda and Kayla Thompson all of Noblesville and three grandsons, Christian Thompson of Noblesville, Ryan Tilley of Newport News, Virginia and Jamie Tilley of Glouster, Virginia.
Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Moore Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday with Rev. Tony Alstott officiating. Burial will follow with military honors at Clearview Cemetery. Should friends so desire, expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the First United Methodist Church Caring Ministry.
