Margaret Lucille Clarke Fretz, 84, of Center Point, died at her residence July 31, 2005, following an extended illness.
She was born in Bowling Green, IN, on Dec. 15, 1920, to John L. and Olive Milligan Clark. She graduated from Ashboro High School in 1938. She married Cecil Fretz on June 15, 1938. She is a lifelong resident of Clay County and attended the Saline City Church. She was a homemaker who was known for her impeccable cleaniness and her wonderful cooking. Her beautiful smile and sweet songs will be missed.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Herschel "Cecil;" son, Donnie; mother and father, Olive and John Clarke; brother, Gilbert Clarke; sisters, Zelma Hochsteller and Ramona Knight.
She is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, Ron and Suzy Fretz of Center Point; Bob and Mary Lou Fretz of Freedom; daughters, Virginia Frets of Center Point and Beverly Smith of Independence, MO; grandchildren, Joe Fretz, Terri Fretz, David Steward, Daniel Smith and Jon Smith; great grandchildren, Austine Fretz, Corbin Fretz, Alisha, Anthony, Drew, and Andrea Steward; sisters, June Clevenger, Joann Fogt and Rosie Brown.
Services will be Friday, August 5, 2005, at Schoppenhorst Funeral Home with Anthony Feriell officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday at the funeral home from 4:00-8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Vista Care Hospice, envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
