Maxine Orman, 87, of Center Point passed away August 11, 2005, at 1:20 p.m. at the Davis Garden Health Center in Terre Haute. She was born October 10, 1917, in Clay County, the daughter of Clarence "Elmer" Latham and Clara Estella Carrithers Latham. She went to grade school at Poland, and then graduated from Brazil High School, Class of 1936. She furthered her education at the Indiana Central Business College. As a young lady, she worked for the Maxwell-Droke Publishing Company in Indianapolis. On June 16, 1940, she married Henry M. Orman. They worked together on their family farm. She enjoyed being a homemaker, gardening, baking for others and making maple syrup.

She is survived by her husband, Henry, of Center Point; one daughter, Connie S. Helderman, and her husband, Dale, of Vincennes; one granddaughter, Rebecca L. Skiver, and her husband, Dan, of Terre Haute; four step-grandchildren, Levi Helderman, Megan Helderman, Jessica Patton and husband, Derek, and Whitney Helderman; two step great-grandchildren, Hunter Cutter and Elizabeth Cutter; two nieces, Vickie Roll and husband Kenny, and Shirley Sue Condon.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, John Latham; two sisters, Lenora Wells and Margaret Carter; and infant twin daughters.

Services will be held on Sunday at 3:00 p.m. with Rev. Myron James officiating. Burial will follow at Wilkinson Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 1-3 p.m. The family requests that memorial contributions be made to her memory to the Wilkinson Cemetery. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
