Helen Doretta Morris, 64, of Clay County died at her residence on August 11, 2005, at 11:45 a.m. following an extended illness. She was born March 12, 1941, in Cloverdale, Ind., to William and Dorothy Williamson Young. She graduated from Van Buren High School in 1959. On October 7, 1967, she married Ronald Morris. She worked at Terre Haute First National Bank as a bookkeeper, then as a teller for Brazil Trust, then First National Bank and Trust before she retired in 1974. She also worked at the Clay County Court House in the election office.
She was preceded in death by her parents and seven siblings; Howard Young, Ralph Young, Melvin Young, Vernon Young, Elmer Young, Wilma Bayer and Mary Lou Horn.
She is survived by her husband, Ronald; a son, Jason Morris, and wife, Jennifer, of Terre Haute; three grandchildren, Joshua Morris, of South Carolina, Julie Morris and Jackson Morris, both of Terre Haute; three brothers, Harold Young, of Kentucky, Robert L. Young, of Reelsville, Fred L. Young and wife, Cindi, of Brazil; two sisters, Leona, and husband, Robert Morris, of Brazil and Ellen Fisher and husband, Jim, of Brazil and a large extended family.
Services will be at French Funeral Home on Tuesday, August 16, 2005, at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Bill Brown officiating. Burial will follow at Clearview Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home Monday from 4-8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Hospice of the Wabash Valley; donation envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
