Redgie D. Collins, 54, of Clay City, died Sunday, Aug. 14, 2005, at his parents home after battling Lou Gehrigs (ALS) disease for several years.

He was born in Clay County, April 1, 1951 to Ferrel and Marybelle Barton Collins. He graduated from Clay City High School in 1970. He worked as a farmer and excavator for many years until he retired in November of 2004. He enjoyed riding horses, riding his motorcycle, attending auctions, and spending time with his nieces and nephews.

He is survived by his parents, a daughter Lisa Medley of Center Point, IN, two brothers, Fred Collins and wife Kathy and Ryan Collins and wife Lois, two nephews Casey and Adam Collins all of Clay City, IN; a niece Brandy Hyatt and a great nephew William Ferrel Hyatt, both of Westfield, IN.

Services will be at Schoppenhorst Funeral Home Wednesday, August 17, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Nathan Couch officiating. Burial will follow at Sink Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the ALS Association of Indiana; envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
