She was born on May 25, 1924, to Fred and Annabelle Roush Gard. She was a graduate of Cory High School. On July 24, 1943, she married Gilbert Royer. She was employed by the Clay County Hospital where she worked in the supply department. She was a member of Cory Zion Church, Cory Rebecca Club, she enjoyed crafts, cake baking and loved taking care of her grand kids.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a son Stanley Royer, three brothers Dillon Gard, Ardian Gard and Marvin Gard and a sister Margaret Nisbet.
She is survived by her husband, two daughters, Linda Diehl of Cory and Dianna Marrs and Pat of Cory; grandchildren, Richard and Danielle Schroer of Clay City; Robert and Christina Schroer of Avon; David and Chelly Sands of Riley; Jamie and Chip Rogers, Jill and Shane Wiram, Matthew Marrs and Andrew Marrs; step-grandchildren, Danny Diehl, Marietta Diehl, Kay O'Donnell, Helen Everhart; great-grandchildren Ryan, Stephanie and Paige Schroer; Nick, Emily and Jacob Schroer; Rachael Cottrell; John and Jacob Sands; Evan, Emily, Ethan and Elliott Roger.
Services will be at Schoppenhorst Funeral Home, Friday, August 19, 2005, at 6:00 p.m with Rev. Anthony Ferrell officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00 until time of services on Friday. At her request cremation will follow. Visit www.schoppenhorstfuneralhome.com to light a candle in her memory.
