Robert Earl Trester, Sr., 77, of Charlestown died Saturday at his home.
He was a native of Clay Co., IN, an army verteran of the Korean Conflict, a former industrial arts teacher for the Louisville Public Schools and also the Greater Clark County School system; he was a member of the First United Methodist Church, past president and member of the Civil War Round Table in Charlestown and New Albany and also a past president and member of the Clark's Grant Historical Society.
Survivors are a son, Robert E. Trester, Jr., a daughter Mary E. Miller, both of Charlestown, IN; and a sister Mary Gibbens of South Bend, IN; five grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Trester and two daughters, Debra Griffith and Mona Lynn McDonald.
Funeral services wil be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday at Grayson Funeral Home in Charlestown with burial in Charlestown Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Monday and after 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday.
