Donald Ray Crabb, 85, of Brazil, passed away October 3, 2005 in Terre Haute Union Hospital.

He was born September 19, 1920, in Clay County to Harley Ray "Dutch" and Mary Shaffer Crabb. On December 4, 1957, he married Ruth Carol Gustin. He was retired from Hunter Oil Company. Mr. Crabb was a United States Navy Veteran of World War II, a 1939 graduate of Van Buren High School, a member of VFW Post No.1127, American Legion Post No. 2, 40 & 8 and the Eagles. He also sang with a barber shop quartet, played cornet, loved his dog, Missy and was a big Cubbie fan.

He was preceded in death by his father, Harley Ray "Dutch" Crabb, his mother, Mary Crabb, a sister, Bea Embry and two brothers-in-law, "Bunk" Morris and "Speedy" Embry.

Survivors include his wife, Ruth Carol Gustin Crabb; five sons and their wives, Barry and Patricia Crabb, Gary and Terri Crabb all of Brazil; Harley "Dutch" and Angie R. Crabb of Carlisle; Tracy and Kelly Crabb of Terre Haute, IN; and James Crabb and Martha Morlan of Brazil; one brother, James Crabb and his wife, Mary, of Brazil; two sisters, Betty Morris of Brazil and Norma and husband Bill Lemay of Reelsville, IN; 13 grandchildren, Brian, Stephanie, Jennifer, Shawn, Joy, Ashley, Sara, Dutchie, Tiffany, Joey, Jessica, Kerri and Matt and five great grandchildren, Kiara, Ian, Tyler, Emily and Chloe.

Services will be 1:00 p.m. Thursday, October 6, 2005, in the French Funeral Home with Rev. Ernie Rush officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 5, 2005, and two hours prior to the service on Thursday in the funeral home. Burial will be in Clearview Cemetery with military honors by the American Legion Post No. 2 and the VFW Post No. 1127.
