Hazel A. Haddon, 99, of Reelsville, formerly of Brazil, passed away October 11, 2005 at 12:56 p.m. at Cloverleaf Healthcare Facility.

She was born in Clay County on October 8, 1906, the daughter of Oscar Blair and Elizabeth Sanderson Blair.

She attended school at Dutch Knob and Simonson Schools in Clay county. As a young lady she worked at the cigar factory and then later at the tomato factory in Brazil.

On March 20, 1926 she married Roy E. Haddon. In the 1950's and 60's she worked as a grill cook for the Tastee Freeze.

She was a past member of the Asbury Methodist Church and later was an active member of the Epworth United Methodist Church. She enjoyed crocheting, quilting, baking pies and the cycle of growing, tending and preserving garden food. She was a loving, devoted mother and grandmother.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Roy; one son-in-law, Walt Maurey; two grandsons, Robert Maurey and Jeffrey Scott Maurey; and two brothers, Harley Blair and Hubert Blair.

She is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth Maurey, of Brazil; her son and daughter-in-law Roy G. and Delores Haddon, of Reelsville; three grandchildren, Linda Pell and husband, Bryan, Ron Maurey and wife, Julie, all of Brazil, and Larry Haddon and wife, Karen, of Reelsville; 11 great-grandchildren, Carrie Pell, Deedra Pell, Erin Pell, David Maurey, Elizabeth Maurey, Rebecca Maurey, Amanda Haddon, Jerrod Haddon, Justin Haddon, Brent Maurey and Tyler Maurey; three great-great-grandchildren, Destiny Stouder, James William Stouder and Clay Heath Stouder; one sister-in-law, Mary Blair, of Brazil; one nephew, David Blair, of Rosedale; and several cousins.

Services will be held Friday at 1 p.m. at French Funeral Home with Pastor Mike Goss officiating. Burial will follow at Wesley Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. and again Friday prior to services.
