James O. Modesitt, age 64, died at 11:04 p.m., Tuesday, October 11, 2005 at his residence in Linton. He was born in Brazil on March 2, 1941, the son of Arthur O. & Wanetta (Lovett) Modesitt. He worked as a Department Supervisor at Logan Clay Products in Brazil and as a Correctional Sargent at the Branchville Traning Center in Tell City.

Survivors include his wife whom he married November 7, 1959, Marylnn Kay (Walters) Modesitt of Linton, two sons, Jimmy Dale Modesitt of Linton & Jeffrey Allan Modesitt of Brazil, two daughters, Maria Kay Modesitt-Houchin of Linton & Melissa Lynn Crouse of Linton, one sister-in-law, Stella Modesitt of Tell City, one brother-in-law, Duane Kowitz of Brazil, ten granchildren and four great-grandchildren.

He was proceeded in death by his parents, a brother, Robert Wayne Modesitt, and a sister, Bonnie Jean Kowitz.

Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, October 14, 2005 at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home Linton Chapel, Harold Hatfield officiating. Bural will follow at the Fairview Cemetery in Linton.

Visitation will be held on Friday from noon until the time of service.
