Christopher Andrew Shields, 14, of Brazil, died Friday at Riley Hospital for Children in Indianapolis following a motor vehicle accident along U.S. Hwy. 40 east of Brazil.
Christopher was born March 28, 1991 in Indianapolis as the son of Andrew David and Robin Shields. He was an 8th grade student at North Clay Middle School. In addition to his school activities, he was a fan of the Indianapolis Colts and NASCAR driver Dale Earnhardt. He had attended the McKinley Hill Church of Christ near his home.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, George H. Shields and two great aunts, Esther Lucille Allee and Barbara Jean Bailey.
He is survived by his mother, Robin Sutton; his father Andrew Shields; step-father Rick Sutton Jr.; two sisters, Jessica and Alysia Shields, all of Brazil; two step-sisters, Shelby Sutton and Ashley Barton; step-brother Ricky Sutton III, all of Wanamaker, Ind.; grandparents Thomas and Viola Hill and grandmother Sarah L. Faust of Indianapolis. He is also survived by step-grandparents Rick and Mary Sutton Jr. and a great aunt, Alberta Allee of Plainfield, Ind.
Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Moore Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home with Pastor Rick Thomas officiating. Burial will follow at Calcutta Cemetery. Should friends so desire, expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Moore Funeral Home to offset funeral expenses.
