He was born on January 9, 1922 in Clay City, the son of Otis P. Reed Sr. and Pearl Brown Reed.
During World War II, he served in the U.S. Army 41st Calvary Recon Squadron until his discharge in March of 1944. He enjoyed his family and farming.
He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by two sisters, Helen Latham, of Knightsville, and Wanda Walker and her husband, John, of Brazil, and one brother, Paul Reed and his wife, Dorothy, of Plainfield, IN.
Graveside funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Monday at Maple Grove Cemetery near Clay City with Pastor Gene Jeffers officiating.
