Jerry Leon Archer, 61, of Brazil died Friday, November 18, 2005, at his residence.
He was born June 20, 1944, in Parke County, Indiana, as the son of Cecil S. and Hila Bemis Archer. He graduated from Van Buren High School with the class of 1962.
Following high school he joined the U.S. Army and served in Germany until his discharge in 1968. He was a member of the Moose Lodge, the Eagles Lodge and was Commander of American Legion Post 2. He enjoyed golf and boating with his friends.
Jerry worked as an electrician and owned his own business, Archer Electric Service until his death.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Hila Jean Underwood and one brother, Kenneth "Bud" Archer.
He is survived by two sisters, Doris Fagg of Brazil and Shirley Johnson of Rocky Fork; one brother, Larry Archer of Brazil; three daughters, Tracey Dickens and husband George of Center Point, Kristen Snyder of Brazil and Veronica Huff and husband Patrick of Brazil; two grandsons, Levi J. Kirton of Brazil and Patrick Jr. Huff of Brazil; four granddaughters, Krystal Kirton and Shawna Huff both of Brazil and Audrienna and Olivia Dickens both of Center Point and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be 4:00 -- 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at Moore Funeral Home with Military Walk-Through by area veterans at 6:30 p.m. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday with Pastor Myron James officiating. Burial will follow at Calcutta Cemetery with Military Honors by American Legion Post 2 and VFW Post 1127.
