Hazel B. Ross Lane, 72 of Brazil passed away November 22, 2005, at 1:15 a.m. at St. Vincent Hospital. She had been battling cancer since May.
She was born June 22, 1933, in Brazil, the daughter of George and Mable Cox Lovett. She attended Perth School and Brazil High School. She and her first husband Robert I. Ross Sr. owned and worked on their family farm together in Spencer, IN. He passed away in January of 1976. She married John W. Lane in 1977. They relocated to the Brazil area after their marriage.
She enjoyed crafts, flowers in the garden and playing bingo. She was a devoted wife, mom and grandma.
She is survived by her husband John Lane of Brazil; one son Robert I Ross Jr. of Brazil; one daughter and son-in-law, Mary E. Ross Williams and Dennis Williams of Spencer; five grandchildren, Robert Lee Ross, Christopher Michael Ross, Heather Marie Ross, Dennis Dwayne Williams and Jeremy Allen Williams; four great-grandchilden, Alex Williams, Ashley Williams, Brandon Williams and Mahlie Herrington; one sister Dorothy Jones and her husband Earl of Brazil; many nieces, nephews and other extended family.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband Robert Ross, Sr., five sisters, Betty Kline, Wanitta Modesitt, Annie Havercamp, Ellen Havercamp, Mable Hoffman and four brothers, Joe Lovett, George Henry Lovett, Alfred Lovett and Raymond Lovett.
Graveside services will be held Saturday at 12:30 p.m. at Clearview Cemetery with Rev. Myron James officiating. Visitation will be Saturday from 11:00 -12:00 noon at French Funeral Home. Light a candle in her memory at www.frenchfuneralhome.com.
